FAQ

Questions before you download.

Why is YouTube Clip Maker a desktop app?

Downloading and clipping videos is resource intensive. If we ran every download and clip job on our own servers, the server costs would add up fast and the tool would eventually need limits, credits, or a paywall. We wanted YouTube Clip Maker to stay free, so it runs locally as a Windows and Mac desktop app instead.

Is it really free?

Yes. The app is free and open source. We ask for your email so we can send the download link and let you know when we release new YouTube automation tools.

What does it do?

Paste YouTube URLs, download the videos, and create usable clips in one workflow. It is meant for faceless YouTube creators who are sourcing footage for videos.

Why do you ask for an email?

So we can send the correct download and follow up with useful creator workflow notes or new YTA Tools releases. No paywall and no fake free trial.

Can I inspect the code first?

Yes. The source code is linked at the bottom of this page on GitHub, so you can review it before installing or modify it for your own workflow.
